Day 1
Shangarh
Day 1: Arrival and Local Shangarh Exploration
- Arrival at Aut: Most travelers arrive at the Aut tunnel bypass via an overnight Volvo from Delhi. From there, take a local bus or private taxi to Shangarh.
- Shangarh Meadows: Spend your morning at the famous Shangarh Meadows, a vast lush green landscape surrounded by deodar forests.
- Shangchul Mahadev Temple: Visit this ancient wooden temple located right at the edge of the meadow. It features intricate traditional carvings and deep local folklore.
- Barshangarh Waterfall: In the afternoon, take a 3–4 km hike to this nearby waterfall. The trail offers peaceful forest views.
- Evening: Relax at a local homestay, enjoy traditional Himachali food like Siddu, and end the day with a bonfire under the stars.
Day 2
Sainj Valley
Day 2: Pundrik Rishi Lake and Sainj Villages
- Pundrik Rishi Lake Trek: After breakfast, head to Deohari village to begin the trek to Pundrik Rishi Lake. It is a sacred, grass-covered lake surrounded by dense forests, taking about 2–3 hours round trip.
- Raila Twin Towers & Waterfall: On your way back toward the valley, visit the village of Raila. It is known for its historic Twin Towers and the Rupi Raila Waterfall.
- Great Himalayan National Park:- Explore the scenic beauty, forests, and wildlife of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, perfect for nature lovers and short treks.
- Sainj Riverside: - Relax by the peaceful riverside and enjoy the beautiful natural views of Sainj Valley.
- Departure: Catch the last local bus from Sainj to Aut (usually around 5:00 PM) to board your return bus to Delhi.
